Angela joined the Firm in 2009 and is currently the head of the Firm’s Domestic litigation and Probate departments, focusing primarily in the areas of divorce, legal separation, child custody, child support, adoption, legitimation, guardianship of minors and adults, conservatorship of minors and adults, probate of estates (with or without valid Wills), No Administration Necessary (process often utilized to clear real property title issues) and actions for Year’s Support. Angela also handles a variety of transactional matters, including contract drafting and the preparation of executor’s deeds, and affidavits of decent.
In addition to her work as a litigator, appointed by Judge Ann Jackson in 2013, Angela currently serves as the Fayette County Probate Court Co-Conservator and frequently serves as a court appointed attorney or Guardian Ad Litem for the Fayette County Probate Court.
Angela is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia. After serving the Fayette County Bar association for several years, Angela was elected by the attorney members to serve as the 2014 President of the Fayette County Bar Association.
Angela has been a resident of Fayette County since 2004 where she resides with her Husband, Jim, and three children. Angela is a graduate of Milton High School, in Alpharetta Georgia and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia in 1996. Angela obtained her law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and is currently licensed to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Georgia Superior, State, Juvenile, and Magistrate Courts and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
As a mother of three, Angela is compassionate and understanding of the effects litigation has on the entire family, not only the parties involved. Angela understands the sensitivity of family privacy and strives to resolve issues without costly and intrusive litigation. Previously serving Georgia Court’s as a certified mediator, Angela is proficient in the mediation process and utilizes those skills in amicable negotiations for the benefit of her clients. Statistically, Angela assists her client’s in resolving domestic issues prior to trial in approximately 80% of cases. However, for those cases that are unable to settle prior to trial, Angela is a zealous advocate and proficient with the trial process achieved by her extensive experience in the many surrounding Superior and Probate Courts.
