At Slepian, Schwartz & Landgaard, we are proud to offer more than just legal services. We also offer mediation services and can mediate cases ranging from family disputes and elder care issues, to landlord-tenant disputes, business disputes as well as divorce and child support cases. Our mediators are registered with the Georgia Department of Dispute Resolution as well as the Coweta County and Fayette County ADR Boards.
Mediation is a voluntary, private, informal and confidential process in which the Mediator guides the mediation without any formal rules of evidence or procedure. The Mediator focuses on the participants and their interests, concerns and perceptions. During a mediation, the Mediator doesn’t focus on the law but the participants. The participants may bring their own attorney to help guide them through the legal issues.
Mediation is beneficial in that it is more time efficient and cost efficient than litigation. Mediation also avoids the legal maneuvering, delays and emotional toils that litigation tends to bring. Mediation is a confidential process for all parties. In addition, the parties agree that the Mediator may NOT be called to testify in any future litigation.
Mediation has been proven highly successful with an 85% settlement percentage nationwide. This process allows those involved in the dispute to control the outcome before a third-party, such as a judge, lawyer or guardian, does it for them.
Mediation is an option if you are in a conflict with another person, group or business and you feel as though you need help in resolving the matter. Please contact our firm to request more information.
