A native Floridian, Jeremy Trimble comes to Slepian & Schwartz after graduating from undergraduate and law school at Florida State University. While studying political science and history as an undergraduate in Tallahassee, Jeremy took several internships in state government. He also worked for the State of Florida as he awaited his Florida Bar results.
Once he passed the Bar, due to COVID, Jeremy stayed on in Tallahassee and worked as an attorney in the Florida Department of Health.
His route to Slepian & Schwartz did not occur by accident. From an early age, Jeremy knew that the law was his calling. He took a legal studies and mock trial class at Middleburg High School in Clay County just west of Jacksonville. “At that moment, I knew that the law was where I wanted to focus,” he said.
Once in law school, Jeremy realized that his specialty was not in combative litigation, but in the areas of the law that brought people together and defused potential problems before they could start.
“Probate and estate planning turned out to be the areas that interested me because they were about helping clients before conflicts arose, stopping any adversarial issues before anyone even considers them,” Jeremy said. “The same is true for contracts. Avoiding conflicts is better for everyone than filing and fighting lawsuits.”
Jeremy’s wife grew up in the Florida Keys. They met as undergraduates and married shortly after graduation. The Trimbles have one child.
As for his relocation to Georgia, Jeremy said, “My family came up (to the South Atlanta area) in 2013 right after I went to college. My dad bought into the Chrysler dealership in Newnan. My siblings moved, too. They have kids now, and, of course, I wanted to be near everyone. I had worked at the car dealership over the summers during undergraduate school. So, I always knew that I wanted to get up here.”
He also knew the area of the law he wanted to practice: the one that helps people avoid heartache and strife.
“My main area is probate, wills and trusts, and estate planning,” he said of his current role at Slepian & Schwartz. “On the front end, we’re helping people set up their estates, handling guardianships and helping families get through the probate process. Through life and after, we’re helping everyone organize their affairs without conflict.”
