A native of Fayette County, GA, Rick Palmer graduated from Fayette County High School in 1985. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law. He began practicing in 1993 with Coggin & Palmer, a firm he founded with his grandfather, before transitioning to the corporate world. Rick spent more than 12 years in the corporate arena which included stints with Coca-Cola and Equant (now Orange Business Services) where he managed VIP clients Microsoft and Nortel Networks.
Rick returned to private practice in 2007, opening an office in Newnan, GA focusing on bankruptcy. As a bankruptcy attorney, Rick has helped hundreds of clients eliminate their debt and all the troubles and problems that go with it. Rick has since expanded his practice areas to include wills & trusts, business law, and real estate closings.
Rick currently resides in Newnan, Georgia with Tricia his wife of 25 years, 17 year old son Wyatt, and 20 year old daughter Sarah Katherine who attends the University of Georgia.
Active in the local community, Rick attends Southcrest Church and volunteers as a group leader in the high school ministry. Rick is currently the vice-president of the Coweta County Soccer Association where he has coached soccer and served as a board member for the past 14 years. Rick also serves on the board of directors of the Southern Soccer Academy (SSA), one the largest soccer clubs in Georgia.
Rick is the attorney adviser for the East Coweta High School Mock Trial Team and is active in the East Coweta High School booster clubs for football and soccer. When not practicing law, he enjoys deer and turkey hunting, genealogy, college football, and attending Wyatt’s football and soccer games.
